Tenencia Aerospace Design is an EASA Part 21 approved Design and Production Organisation; we are also AS9100 accredited. Our speciality is providing Turn-Key solutions, for many different systems, to our customers.


The Modification

LPV, LNAV/VNAV and LNAV approach functions enhance operational capabilities of the aircraft and allows it to conduct precision approaches with autopilot coupled to the Flight Management System.


The approach function of the FMS system uses SBAS/GPS navigation signals to compute

a navigation solution. During approach operation the FMS generates ILS look-a-like signals (Pseudo ILS) which are switched in place of conventional ILS inputs to the DFGC and EFIS SG. The approach is conducted as if it was an ILS approach.


The vertical and lateral deviation indications are displayed on the existing EFIS ILS indicators that are the primary instruments during these operations. Other flight plan related data is also displayed on the existing EFIS displays.


The approach system installed under this change to type design comprises of the following main components:


A. Annunciators – annunciators are installed on the LH and RH instrument panels to annunciate modes and alerts associated with LPV, LNAV/VNAV and LNAV operations.


B. Switching Relays – relays are used to switch the guidance bus output from the FMS into ILS inputs of the EFIS, Autopilot and other systems during LPV, LNAV/VNAV and LNAV operations.


C. Navigation Management Units – the approach system components interface to Universal Avionics FMS system (UNS-1Lw) installed under the previously approved Tenencia modification TEN 467.
